Richard Wagner
Tannhäuser
Suite à la découverte de deux cas positifs asymptomatiques au sein de l’équipe artistique, l’Opéra de Rouen Normandie a été contraint d’annuler toutes les représentations de Tannhaüser.
Wagner’s fifth opera, a masterpiece of Romantic opera, is invited to the Rouen Normandy Opera House. If in the traditional reading, Tannhäuser is caught between sensual love and chaste love, the director David Bobée is rather interested in “the opposition between two goddesses, one archaic, represented by Venus, and the other modern, incarnated by the Virgin Mary” to tell how a religion disappears to be replaced. Alongside the choir, which plays a fundamental role, the soprano Catherine Hunold plays two roles – Venus and Elizabeth: a vocal prowess!
