The Convert
An experience not-to-be-missed! accentus will take part in the French premiere of The Convert at the Opéra de Rouen Normandie. This new piece by Wim Henderickx, a composer known to bring together eastern and western influences, is inspired by Stefan Hertmans’ novel The Convert. A young Norman noblewoman of the 11th century converts to Judaism for the love of a rabbi’s son: forbidden love, religious madness and a perilous journey from Rouen to Cairo depict the Middle-Ages in a phase of turmoil.
