By conducting La Clemenza di Tito, Ben Glassberg demonstrates once again his talent for interpreting Mozart’s music. Although the opera was composed in six mere weeks, and though Mozart was already severely ill and simultaneously working on his Magic Flute and on his Requiem, this piece is a jewel. Its score is full of magnificent arias and features extremely sophisticated orchestration. Its libretto explores the human soul in its full complexity, caught in between violent passions and the thirst for power.
