Due to the measures taken in the context of the health crisis, the concerts planned at the Théâtre des Arts in Rouen on 12, 13 and 15 November have unfortunately been cancelled.
Some challenge! It took Mozart just six weeks to rattle off his penultimate opera for the coronation of Leopold II, even though he was ill and already busy working on The Magic Flute and the Requiem. Sublime arias, sophisticated orchestration and the mastery of composition for ensembles made the work a benchmark for opera seria. Mozart specialist, Ben Glassberg, new musical director of the Opera de Rouen Normandie, conducts the inspired work with its backdrop of violent passions and political scheming.
