LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN
Fidelio
2h30 avec entracte
An ode to liberty and justice, Fidelio holds a special place in music history. In his sole opera, Ludwig van Beethoven found new ways to use the orchestra, and gave a woman – Leonore, disguised as Fidelio – a major role: to save her husband from prison. A story bound to hold interest for David Bobée, for whom heroism is “powerless to change the world if it does not cross paths with the ordinary kindness of the humble, and with the integrity of the powerful”.
