Ludwig Van Beethoven
Symphonie n° 9
The two ensembles founded by Laurence Equilbey, choir accentus and Insula orchestra, join forces to celebrate Beethoven and his 9th symphony. By doubling the number of wind instruments, as was done during the composer’s life, they perform this score with renewed brilliance. With its impressive instrumentarium, fiery writing, luminous choir parts, boisterous “Ode to Joy” and humanist message, it is easy to grasp why Richard Wagner considered it “the last of all symphonies”.
